he spirit of solidarity that Albizu fosters through initiatives like Hablando Contigo also comes alive through sports and community action. On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the institution will hold the third edition of its signature 5K for Mental Health, starting at Plaza Colón in Old San Juan and finishing at the campus headquarters.

“This 5K is more than a race; it is a movement of solidarity and awareness.”

More than just a race, the 5K is a movement that unites families, students, professionals, and community members around a shared purpose: raising awareness about the importance of emotional well-being and directly supporting the services of Albizu Clinics. This collective effort has already made a significant impact, with the previous edition enabling more than one thousand individual, couples, and family therapy sessions for those with limited financial resources.

“This 5K is more than a race; it is a movement of solidarity and awareness. By running or walking together, we not only promote a healthy lifestyle, but we also directly support families and communities in need of access to much-needed mental health services in Puerto Rico,” said university president Dr. Nelson E. Soto.

This year, we are thrilled to announce that close to one thousand runners and walkers are expected to participate, a testament to the event’s growing momentum and impact. Registration and information are available at www.5kalbizu.com or through the MiCarreraPR platform.
