he Alumni Network at Albizu University engages, connects, energizes and represents alumni through a myriad of events, initiatives and programs. We pride ourselves in the ability to establish programs based on the feedback of our alumni nationwide to ensure our members feel valued and obtain the greatest return on investment for their participation.

The network’s goals include leveraging the relationships that currently exist with our alumni in the community, increasing alumni presence on campus through on-site presentations and mentoring, engaging alumni in the recruitment and engagement of prospective students, and expanding the number of professional development and career opportunities available to network members.

Prior to the pandemic, at the beginning of 2020, Albizu’s Alumni Network hosted an exciting kick-off event in Miami to welcome new and prospective members to the network. During the event, attendees were provided with information on the alumni network, its benefits and the goals that were being prioritized. In addition, alumni that have been engaging in groundbreaking work in the community were awarded numerous recognitions and their work was highlighted.  Participants enjoyed music and great food, engaged in meaningful conversations, networked and were given an opportunity to check out the new state-of-the-art facilities.

During the pandemic, the alumni network continued engaging members through social media and virtual networking opportunities. A series of presentations were conducted by alumni in various fields of study and data was collected to gauge the interest in topics for future presentations.

Based on research conducted on successful alumni networks nationwide and the efforts that produce the largest return on investment for all involved, the alumni network identified three focus areas: engagement with prospective students via the admissions department, participation in a mentoring program and serving as a guest speaker during conferences and classes. A survey was conducted demonstrating high interest and allowing for the network to quickly move forward with the implementation of these initiatives.  Although there are currently three areas of focus, the network remains open to and willing to discuss any other initiatives brought to the table by members of the Albizu community. We truly believe that the more conversations we have to enhance the impact of the network, the more beneficial to all involved.

We are looking forward to another successful year and encourage alumni to reach out to us to explore ways in which they can become involved and take advantage of the benefits our network has to offer. If interested in learning more and staying updated on upcoming events, please follow us on social media or email us at dosa@albizu.edu. The network is open to alumni from all Albizu locations and programs.

Looking forward to collaborating with our Albizu University community to take our network to the next level!
