he education I received at Albizu University has been fundamental in shaping my professional identity and practice. It provided me with specialized knowledge and strong clinical competencies, and awakened in me a genuine calling to the field of autism, an area I had not initially considered part of my career path, but which today represents one of my greatest passions.

Being an Albizu graduate adds significant value to my professional practice. Having an education from a highly respected and recognized institution strengthens the credibility of my work and fosters immediate trust among those I serve. This motivates me to practice with a strong sense of responsibility, ethics, and commitment, honoring the quality of the education I received.

“Being an Albizu graduate adds significant value to my professional practice”

One of the most meaningful milestones in my journey was being selected as one of the first three scholarship recipients from the Dominican Republic to pursue, in person, the Master’s degree in Autism and Other Neurodevelopmental Disorders at Albizu University. This achievement marked a turning point in my life, representing not only a high-level academic opportunity but also recognition of my commitment to mental health and my potential impact within my community.

Relocating from the Dominican Republic to continue my education, navigating the challenges of adapting to a new academic and cultural environment, and successfully completing this program have all been deeply transformative experiences. I am currently continuing my professional development through the OPT (Optional Practical Training) program, which allows international students with a student visa to work in the United States in jobs directly related to their field of study. This has enabled me to gain practical experience, strengthen my clinical competencies, and continue contributing to the field.

My experience at Albizu University was much more than academic; it was formative in every sense. The quality of the program, its level of rigor, and access to highly qualified faculty significantly strengthened my clinical skills. However, one of the most defining aspects was the human support I received. Having the guidance of committed professionals, such as Rosa Belvis López, Chief Recruitment Officer, was key to my stability and success. Likewise, the support of advisors and administrators enhanced my journey and made it more manageable.

Within the program, I also had the opportunity to build meaningful friendships that I maintain to this day; colleagues who are outstanding professionals and who continue to support my development. That network has been a vital pillar both personally and professionally.

“My experience at Albizu University was much more than academic; it was formative in every sense”

Being a graduate of Albizu University represents pride, commitment, and responsibility. It reflects a story of effort, perseverance, and opportunity. In my professional practice, this translates into providing ethical, high-quality service while maintaining a humane and compassionate perspective in every case. It is also reflected in my ongoing commitment to learning, excellence, and social impact, particularly for vulnerable populations, such as individuals with autism and their families. Being part of Albizu is not only about becoming an excellent professional but also about becoming a leader with a true vocation for service. That is the legacy I carry with me.”
